Floor schrijft

Veel buitenpromovendi reserveren de feestdagen voor een korter of langer schrijfsabbatical tussen de kerststol en oliebol door. De drukte van het werk valt weg, de sfeer in huis is vredig, het lukt om in elk geval een paar blokken van enkele uren te reserveren om eens echt aan het schrijven te gaan.

Binnen de mainstream populaire cultuur worden verhalen steeds meer opgebouwd als relaas over zelfverwerkelijking, de ontwikkeling van de held tot een betere versie van zichzelf. Daarnaast worden schrikbeelden pur sang, die het lijden in de menselijke verbeelding representeren en waar we van oudsher voor terugdeinzen, ingeruild voor knuffelpersonages waar we sympathie voor kunnen opvatten. Beide trends tezamen noemen we Disneyficatie van het menselijk lijden.
